November Events

Drew Barrymore will be signing her book Wildflower at The Grove in Los Angeles on November 4th.  As a huge fan of Drew I am so excited for this opportunity to meet her a the book signing.  Of course there will be several other book signings happening throughout the month but I am most excited for this one.  If you cannot attend Drew’s book signing but would like an autographed copy of her book I can get one on your behalf.  In order to request a book please fill out the form here: BooksAutographedByCelebrities

AFI Fest: This film festival will take place in Hollywood on November 5th through 12th and will screen several movies.  The Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt movie By the Sea will premiere on opening night.  The Will Smith movie Concussion and The Big Short featuring Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling will be shown during the week as well.  This is a great opportunity to get to see some incredible films and possibly even see a few movie stars.  You can volunteer if you want to experience the festival without spending a lot of money or you can try and get a hold of some of the free tickets that they will be giving out.  For more information please visit: http://www.afi.com/afifest/default.aspx

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will occur on select evenings from November 8th to December 18th at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.  I have attended this before and had a great time!  It is a special event with a limited amount of tickets available.  Guests will meet Disney characters that are rarely in the park, see a Christmas parade, firework show and get as many snicker doodle cookies and hot chocolate as they wish throughout the park.  This event does tend to sell out so it is recommended to buy your tickets as soon as possible.  For more information please visit: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party/

Mouse-Con will be taking place on November 15th in Concord, California.  This is the first time that this event is being held and compared to the prices of the D23 expo held in August it is really affordable at $10 a person and children 8 years or younger get in free.  Now it won’t be as grand as the D23 expo but for Disney fans it sounds like it will be fun day.  Two Disney Legends will be in attendance: Floyd Norman, an animator, and Tommy Kirk who is best remembered for play Travis in Old Yeller.  There are other special Disney guests who are scheduled to appear and for $10 it should be more than worth your time.  For more information please visit: mouse-con

The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Red Carpet Premiere: As of now the information I have found on the event has no confirmed location but lists the date as being November 16th in Los Angeles.  If you want a chance to meet the cast at the red carpet you will need to plan on arriving early in the morning, before the sunrise, and there is no guarantee that you will get to meet anyone.  AMC theatres is showing the movie one day early on November 18th. You will get to watch Mockingjay Part One followed by Mockingjay Part 2 and receive an exclusive lanyard and mockingjay pin.  If you want a chance to win tickets to the red carpet premiere click here: http://www.seventeen.com/celebrity/movies-tv/news/a34341/enter-for-a-chance-to-win-premiere-the-hunger-games-mockingjay-part-2/

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held on November 26th and if you are in the area on November 25th you can watch them inflate the balloons.  Seats in the bleachers are not for sale but you can line up along the majority of the parade route.  You can purchase packages that enable you to view the parade from indoors.  This event is on my bucket list and I really hope that someday I can make there to watch the parade in person.  For more information on the parade please visit: http://social.macys.com/parade/#home

The Hollywood Christmas Parade will take place on November 29th though it will not air on TV until December.  Penn and Teller will be the grand marshals and there will be plenty of other celebrities there as well.  You can line up along the parade route for free or you can purchase a seat in the bleachers which also enables to you to view the pre parade concert.  For more information on attending the parade please visit: http://thehollywoodchristmasparade.org
