Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa is located on the island of Oahu. The resort is a great vacation destination for Disney fans. You get a chance to experience paradise while receiving the quality service that Disney is known for. Are you planning a trip here? Did you know that Aulani is a Disney vacation club property? Because of that, the hotel has different main types of rooms. There are the standard resort room and the vacation club villa. How do you know which kind of rooms at Aulani you should book?
Your answer right away might be “I’m not a vacation club member so why would I stay in that room”. I am not a vacation club member but I was still able to book the deluxe studio villa. The room was fabulous and I have zero complaints. It was spacious, comfy, and full of charm. Both the bed and the pull out couch were wonderful.
The decor in the rooms at Aulani focuses much more on the Hawaiian culture than Disney. Don’t get me wrong I love Disney decor. The Disneyland Hotel is one of my favorite hotels because of the Disney decor. However, I loved that the focus at Aulani is about culture. You wouldn’t even know by looking at a photo of the room that you’re at a Disney resort. My room had a view of a grassy area on the side of the hotel. The small deck was something that I enjoyed both in the morning and at night.
This lamp is one of the few Disney touches in the room. The lei on top of the lamp is the one given to women when you arrive at Aulani.
The bathroom is spacious as well. I loved having the shower faucet in the ceiling.
The kitchenette has a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a sink. This can be a nice money saver if you go to a grocery store on the island. You can find food in the Aulani gift shop that you can make it the room but those prices are not much cheaper than the ones in the restaurants and eateries.
Are the rooms at Aulani worth the price? Yes. However, when I visited Aulani I was still working for The Walt Disney Company so I was able to get a discount. I would still stay here again in the future but it is a pricey resort. However, keep in mind that you are staying on the beach and a luxurious place. There is so much to do at Aulani that you can stay busy for several days. I stayed two nights because I could only get enough time off work to go for three days.

How many days should you stay at Aulani? Two to three days is perfect. If you can afford to stay longer I recommend it. However, Oahu is an island filled with great things to do. So if you can stay more than a few days on the island maybe move to a hotel over in Waikiki.
