This past weekend I was invited to the Soul2Soul tour with Tim McGraw & Faith Hill by a friend of mine. I am so happy that I was able to go because it was one of the best concerts that I have ever been to. Rachel Platten opened for Tim & Faith but due to a prior commitment I was unable to get to the Staples Center before her set finished. Now that I no longer live in Nashville I don’t listen to country music but both Tim & Faith sang several of their hit songs so I knew the majority of them which made the concert even better for me.

Everything about the concert was impressive to me. The talent of both Tim and Faith is absolutely incredible. The stage design and the lighting were fabulous too and normally those are two things that I don’t care about very much at a concert. What stood out of me most of all though was how many fans Tim and Faith interacted with during their show. They were very interactive with the pit fans throughout the show. For Faith’s last song which was Mississippi Girl she walked through the audience sitting on the floor level giving high fives and stopping to take pictures and give a few hugs.

I was shocked to see Tim walk through my section as he sang Something Like That which just happens to be one of my favorite songs of his. When I arrived my friend told me that an usher mentioned that the biggest Tim McGraw fan should sit in the aisle seat. The usher never mentioned that sitting there would mean a chance to shake Tim’s hand. My video didn’t turn out perfect but you can see Tim and I shaking hands and see just how close I was to him. I have been to several shows where the perfumers have passed through the audience but this is the first time I can remember that it happened in my section.

I met Faith at the Ryman in Nashville when I was younger so it was exciting for me to have an interaction with Tim even if it was incredibly brief. After Faith and Tim reunited on stage for one last song they autographed a t shirt for someone in the front. They went above and beyond for several fans last night and I greatly appreciated that. If you ever get the chance to see them together I highly recommend it.
