Earlier this week I had the chance to meet David Beckham in Los Angeles. How did I get the opportunity to meet him? I found out about an event to promote Modern Essentials Selected by David Beckham at H&M. The first 150 fans to line up for the event were guaranteed to meet David. I am on the email list for FIGat7th where the event was held. Information about the event was also posted on the H&M Facebook.
David and his wife Victoria have been considered fashion icons for a long time. While David has not designed the clothes in the collection he did select what would be sold in the stores. I love that he chose to work with H&M. They have a nice variety of prices so Beckham fans of all incomes can shop the modern essentials he has selected. Prices range from $17.99 to $99 which means you can look great without breaking the bank. As I waited in line inside the store I got to see several of the items in the collection. I was very pleased with the quality of the clothing. I have to admit I was a bit jealous that the clothing was limited to menswear.
Prior to the event, all guests in line were given a tote bag with a few H&M goodies inside. Inside of the bag was a card that we could use to get an autograph on. I thought it was great that we were given at item to get autographed. It was nice to have an option in case you didn’t bring anything. My friend had given me a picture of David that they had printed out which is what I had signed.
I wish I could have gotten more than one autograph so that I had more to giveaway. However, I’m thankful for the one autograph I was able to get.

The meet and greet was very organized which always makes an event more enjoyable. Before David came out we were shown The Road Trip which is a video of David and Kevin Hart made for H&M. Anything with Kevin makes me laugh!
Once David came out to meet the fans the event went pretty quick. Everyone was led up on a platform to meet him. We were rushed but it was long enough to say a few words, take a picture and get an autograph. Afterwards, we had time to shop the collection.
In case you were wondering David’s accent is just as cute as he is.
That seems like a lot of fun, I’ll have to check it out next time I go to H&M.
I would have bought a pair of his brands underware and had him sign that! ;)
