Can you believe that winter is coming? As much as I love the holiday season it can be stressful. There is always so much to do and so little time to get it all done. Most of us have family and friends that come to stay with us at some point during the holidays. Sometimes having company can add to the stress for various reasons. One way to make things better for both you and your guests is to prepare for company with a winter toolkit.
As I get older, it is becoming more and more important to me to be a great hostess. This inspired me to create a winter toolkit that I can have for my friends and family that come to visit. When I put together the toolkit I tried to think of things I have forgotten to pack or little things that are just nice to have when you travel. A few things in the toolkit might change depending on who comes to visit but for the most part this kit will be perfect for anyone who comes to visit.
I wish I could say that I never get sick or achy when I travel but that just isn’t the case. Being sick is never enjoyable. I think it’s even worse when you can’t be home in your own bed. In case any of my company is feeling less than stellar I have Extra Strength TYLENOL® and TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain front and center in their winter toolkit. I love showing my guests around Southern California which means a lot of walking. Sometimes we get so excited about going to a theme park that we forget to stretch properly. My family and I have been known to walk around ten miles on a visit to our favorite theme park. That is just one example of when TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain comes in handy.
I think a lot of us can agree that even though this time of year provides us with a lot of memories it can also give us a lot of headaches. There is so much to do in so little time and even though having company is great it can be hard to get alone time to unwind. You can always say that you need to wrap some presents, and then go to your room to take a breather. When I have a headache I like to take some Extra Strength TYLENOL® and watch a movie.
I went to my local Target to get the items I needed to put together my winter toolkit. I found the TYLENOL® items I needed on Aisle 3 in the Pharamacy area. While I was shopping I also picked up some other items to complete the winter toolkit.
To make the winter toolkit I spray painted the lid of a shoebox and added stickers to the front to spell out welcome.
Items in the toolkit:
♥ Extra Strength TYLENOL® and TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain
♥ Bottled Water
♥ The Wifi Name & Password
♥ A toothbrush & toothbrush cover
♥ Lotion
♥ A candle
♥ Face wipes
♥ Note pad & pen
♥ Tissues
♥ Shower gel
♥ A small bag of candy
Putting this together before you have company will be one less thing for you to worry about. Try and remember what you’ve forgotten to pack on a trip or things that you love having when you visit someone. The goal is here is to make sure your company feels welcome.
What would you put in your winter toolkit? Please share with me in the comment section below.
I love this idea! I always have a basket, but this is genius for winter time!
You are always a fabulous hostess! -Michelle
This is such a great idea! I always get so achy when I travel, but don’t typically think to pack Tylenol. You are the hostess with the mostest lady!
PS – Definitely going to steal your idea of using a spray painted shoe box lid next time I need a little box like that!
Oh wow that is so smart and so considerate!! You are such a sweetheart to make something like that for your guests.

What a great idea to put a card with your WIFI info. This is a wonderful gift to have for overnight guests.
This is such a great idea for winter house guests! I usually do flowers and a new candle for the room- but how perfect to be prepped to make them feel like home!
This is great! And you’re right, it’s really better to put it together and have it ready before you even know that company is coming!
I never would have thought to put in Tylenol. Great option because it’s safe for most people. I always put sample sized shampoos and conditioners in mine, as well.
What a cute winter idea! I need a toolkit now…off to make one!

What a brilliant idea! Your toolkit is cool. Maybe I need to prepare my own toolkit too.
I have a little basket similar to this in the guest bath. It’s such a nice welcome for guests.
I absolutely love this idea- would be perfect for traveling too!
You are a really cool hostess! That is an amazing idea. Love it!
This is such a cute idea! Definitely going to make one of these I have guests staying over!

I need me one of these, seriously!
I would add some chocolate and healthy snacks. Fruit and nuts would be goo.
